Mt. Airy, North Carolina
Historic Tax Credit Project
The historic Spencer's Mill complex has a long association with Mt. Airy's tobacco and textile industries. As those industries declined, they left a void in the area and the buildings went in to disrepair.
As part of a new development plan, Rowhouse Architects has finished the design and documentation for converting a 3 story leaf house from 1905 and other adjacent historic structures in to a mixed use residential project.
While maintaining the historic character of the buildings, Rowhouse has added fifteen residential units and 5000 sf of retail space as part of the adaptive re-use of the former industrial buildings.
