ADAPTIVE RE-USE / AFFORDABLE HOUSING

The Brookmont Lofts project renovated the historic Haywood County Hospital in Waynesville, North Carolina. The original wing of the hospital was built in 1927 and subsequently added onto in 1952, 1958, and 1966.

The renovation contains 54 affordable apartments, consisting of one and two bedrooms for families. The project kept many elements of the existing structure intact and is in a central location for livability.

The construction cost was approximately $8,800.000. The project was completed in the summer of 2022.
