The existing one-story building was built as the Gulf Pride Service Station in 1941. With rounded corners and edges, projecting central pavilion, a porthole window, curved glass block, and a three-part molded band on the upper façade, it is a fine example of the Art Moderne style.
The building was renovated and converted into a restaurant on the street level with a brewery on the lower level. A one-story addition to the north of the existing building to house restrooms and a portion of the kitchen was constructed. The existing parking lot was converted into a lushly planted beer garden.
